David Johnson asked:

With DirecTV all of the problems of cable television and the old VCR (or Video Cassette Recorder) become a thing of the past. DVR virtually replaces and totally surpasses it’s analog predecessor known as the VCR. DirecTV offers a very wide variety programming packages of all shapes, sizes, and affordability. DirecTV also offers 24 hour customer service 7 days week so you no longer have to worry if something goes wrong late at night when you are watching a movie with the family. DirecTV’s customer service is sure to answer every question with an intelligent answer because all of the DirecTV customer service representatives are actually knowledgeable about the product and how to fix any potential problems it may have. So you will actually get to say goodbye to the lousy customer service usually offered through cable television. With the Digital Video Recorder (or DVR) offered free with DirecTV programming packages the worries of the old VCR will also be a thing of the past. For one, you will never have to worry about filling up all of your old bookshelves with Video Cassette Tapes of your favorite television shows anymore.

The DVR unit actually allows you to record the programs on to a digital “hard drive” where you can store hours upon hours of your favorite TV programs and shows. When you couple the DVR with the TiVo unit you also will have many more options. Because the TiVo unit actually allows you to rewind television you can choose to save certain programs that have been automatically recorded temporarily. With this incredible feature VCR timers and recording speeds are completely obsolete and when you have DVR and TiVo offered by DirecTV they will truly become a thing of the past. You will never again have to worry about all of the typical frustrations of cable and the VCR again once you sign up for a DirecTV satellite television programming package. Not to mention that you will get all of your favorite channels with the option of actually getting popular movie channels like ShoTime, HBO, or Starz. All of this including the free hardware, free installation in up to four rooms in your home, the High Definition Television format compatibility, great programming packages with the option of movie channels, TiVo and DVR, can actually be obtained for a very affordable rate that is in some cases actually at a comparable cost to what you would be paying now for your cable TV provider.

You should really take a closer look at satellite TV from DirecTV and all it offers. It is truly a great deal and with the huge variety of programming packages that are geared towards different types of entertainment preferences allow you to actually pick out a programming package that will suit you perfectly. This means of course that you will get much more channels that you can actually enjoy on a regular basis and will actually watch and much less channels that will just sit on your dial and look pretty. Time to consider changing over to DirecTV, take a closer look.

Written by David Johnson.
David Johnson asked:

If you are not familiar with the Digital Video Recorder or TiVo unit then you have the only good excuse for not already owning them! First of all, the TiVo and Digital Video Recorder (referred to as the DVR) come free with the package of free satellite equipment that are installed with DirecTV’s free professional installation. So before we get into the awesome features of TiVo and the DVR you already know that you won’t be spending anything extra to get these! The TiVo and DVR units work together so that you can view television in a whole new way. One amazing feature of the combination is the ability to pause and rewind live television. It may sound impossible, although once you understand how it is done it makes perfect sense. The DVR and TiVo units, you get from DirecTV, actually save all of the shows and programs, that play on your channels, temporarily on the DVR as the shows and programs are being aired. This way, in a sense, you are pausing or rewinding a recorded program much like you would using a VCR. One additional bonus with this system is the ability to fast forward through the already recorded programs. Basically, the way that it is set up, whenever you pause live television you are, in a sense, saving up time for when the next commercial break comes on. As your television is paused, live television keeps airing of course, and as live television keeps going your TiVo and DVR keep recording (even when the program you are watching is paused). The result is that you can fast forward from the point you paused it all the way up until you reach the point of the program that is being aired live. That way, every time you get up to go the restroom or get up to get a snack or drink you are saving up fast forward time for commercial breaks. Add up all of that paused time and that is how much time in commercial breaks that you can fast forward through.

DirecTV not only offers the TiVo and DVR unit, they offer the TiVo and DVR units for free when you sign up! Actually DirecTV offers a lot of great features and deals to those who sign up for a monthly package. For instance, DirecTV offers all of the necessary equipment such as the satellite dish, and a Hughes satellite receiver, as well as the luxury equipment such as the TiVo and DVR for free with certain packages. DirecTV also requires no start up fee whatsoever and with the free equipment they offer a 100% free professional installation. To top it all off, DirecTV extends the free equipment and professional installation to free equipment and installation in up to four rooms in your home. What makes this value so amazing is that DirecTV has programming packages with monthly rates comparable to cable monthly rates. Considering DirecTV’s other awesome features like parental controls, and of course their fantastic and well renowned customer service, you really can not go wrong with DirecTV.

Written by David Johnson.
David Johnson asked:

DirecTV is one of the leading providers of satellite television available on the world wide market today. DirecTV is known for many things such as great customer service and support, awesome affordability and value, large variety of channel packages, movie channels, the relatively new digital High Definition television format, parental controls, as well as an assortment of other great features. As far as customer service and support are concerned, to give you a general idea, DirecTV has been rated number one in general customer satisfaction (in the field of a satellite television provider) for seven years straight. This rating has been given to DirecTV seven separate times by an organization called the American Customer Satisfaction Index. HBO, Cinemax, and ShoTime, are some of the popular movie channels offered from DirecTV. DirecTV also offers an additional and very popular package of channels known as the Sports Pack.

The Sports Pack shows over fourteen different sports games in a week, and it has special after game coverage channels that gives you all the inside access you could ever want. The Sports Pack also has all of the High Definition TV, or HD TV, sports channels as well. One thing is for sure, if you are a sports fan and you get the Sports Pack offered from DirecTV, you will wonder how you were ever able to be a true sports fan without it!

If you are unfamiliar with the TiVo and Digital Video Recorder systems, take a closer look, it is a pretty amazing combination. Actually, many television viewers who already have the TiVo and DVR systems agree that TiVo and DVR have changed the way television is viewed drastically for the better. Basically, when you get a Digital Video Recorder and TiVo unit, for free I might add, from DirecTV, you will not only be able to record your favorite shows directly to the DVR unit without worrying about a cumbersome VHS tape, you will also be able to go back through the programs that aired hours before and record them as well. Actually, with both units you will be able to record hours and hours of your favorite programs as well as the ability to actually pause and rewind LIVE TV!

It is really a huge breakthrough in the way television can be watched in general. If you remember the old Video Cassette Recorders (vs. the new Digital Video Recorder) you always had to deal with annoying problems and hassles just to take care of the simplest of tasks. Some of these problems involved use (or misuse) of the recording timer or the speed settings. Usually, the smallest error on the viewers part, or just a faulty machine (I think we all have had one) you will miss either the last half of your show or the entire show! Well now with the TiVo and DVR units offered free from DirecTV (when you sign up for a monthly service) even if you miss your favorite program altogether, you can actually rewind and record hours later! Pretty amazing wouldn’t you say?

Written by David Johnson.
David Johnson asked:

In today’s busy life schedules it can be hard to monitor your children’s television shows the entire time they are watching television. It can also be hard to know for sure that all the channels and show aired on your television broadcast is suitable for young children. It seems that within the last 20 years the over seers of what can and can not be air on television have become more and more lax with what can be aired. Television shows have become more vulgar and violent even with the children’s shows sneaking in those little profanity words here and there. With all the unsuitable shows filling each channel it is hard to keep your children’s eyes on the good shows. Well, DirecTV believes that it is about time that you parents get some help in this supervision department. DirecTV Satellite is now making available with their Satellite services DVR ( Digital Video Recording ) systems with TiVo!

Benefits of DVR ( Digital Video Recorder ) and TiVo!

For the Children’s Benefit:

With the DVR system with TiVo from DirecTV not only can you have a channels selection of over 195 standard channels and over 140 HD ( High Definition ) channels but you can make password protected settings for them all! TiVo has a special setting call the “Kid Zone”. With “Kid Zone” TiVo creates a little side branch of TiVo just for the children’s channels. When TiVo is in “Kid Zone” it blocks out such show like South Park and Family Guy. The way the “Kid Zone” setting knows to block these shows is it creates a virtual TiVo menu and virtual channels, pecifically for the children that contains only channels with good wholesome children’s shows. The leading parenting and family groups chose these shows and channels for the “Kid Zone”. The main contributors to this decision were Common Sense Media and The Parents TV Council.

For the Parents Benefit:

Along with TiVo to help filter out the filth on TV and make television viewing for your children safe and wholesome the DVR is a great benefit for parents. The DVR system allows you to record television shows and movies right onto the DVR system. The DVR system can hold over 200 hours of show time. Also with DVR you no longer have to sacrifice you favorite show because your child has a special new Disney movie they have been waiting to see because with the DVR system you can record your show while the kids are happily watching their show. After their bed time you can your mate can settle down in the silence and watch you shows. IF you decide to record your children’s shows for tomorrow and watch your shows that evening you don’t have to worry about it being interrupted by little fights or injuries from falling down onto the carpet. The DVR system with TiVo allows you to fast forward, pause and rewind your television show so you do not have to miss a minuet!

DirecTV with DVR and TiVo is a great family set up helping you to keep your home television clean for the kids and still being a great provider of entertainment for the parents. DirecTV definitely hit the nail on the head when it came to the best family television set up!

ebaylaser Forums

This free equipment includes such necessities as the satellite dish and a Hughes brand satellite receiver. The free equipment also includes such luxuries as a TiVo unit and DVR. DirecTV also offers programming packages that start at monthly rates comparable to what you are paying now with cable.

Since the TiVo and DVR units you get, when you sign up with DirecTV, temporarily record just about everything as it airs, other possibilities also open up. For one, unlike a VCR where you have to scramble to set the timer to record your favorite program and hope you set it to p.m., with the DVR and TiVo you can actually just find the program that is stored temporarily, hours later, and save that recorded program. Viola, your program is saved and ready to watch over and over whenever you want. If you don’t want to waste space on your DVR with a program you will never watch again, you don’t have to. Instead of saving the already temporarily recorded program just rewind television and watch it then and there. Or if you are going to watch it later, just save the program, watch it later, and delete it, simple as that. When you simply compare the space a DVR takes up vs. a VCR you will see one major advantage. Most specifically referring to the VHS tapes used to record programs with a VCR. Those VHS tapes fill up bookshelves and boxes incredibly fast with their large cumbersome size and pretty ugly look. The DVR however, takes up no additional space than the unit itself as the unit requires no tapes but records all on a digital hard drive. Guess it is time to say goodbye to the old fashioned and almost totally obsolete VCR, and say hello to TiVo and the DVR from DirecTV!

DirecTV is also known for their parental controls and fantastic customer service. The graphic content found on many television channels has become a growing problem for television viewing families with young children world wide. It has become increasingly difficult for parents to see all of the programs that their children watch while they are watching them. DirecTV has taken this carefully into consideration while designing their parental controls feature. With parental controls from DirecTV, the parent will be able to find and block the channels that are known for the graphic content. If a channel only shows graphic material late at night, the parent can set the parental controls to simply block the channel during those times of the day. This way, any programs of merit that are shown during the daytime will not be missed. DirecTV’s parental controls feature is also password protected. With the password protection, you will not have to worry about your child changing the parental control settings when you are not around and changing them back before you get home.

Written by David Johnson.
