We have Directv already. I don’t have any kind of DVR, but I would really like one. Can I buy a TIVO box on eBay or some vendor like weaknees.com, and just plug it in? Do I have to replace the Directv receiver or can the DVR somehow control the Directv? Do I use the same access card I have now, or do I have to get new ones?

Sorry for all the questions, I don’t know anything about DVRs or satellite hacks, but I am fairly technically-savvy. Thanks.
