Is the DirectTV Tivo remote compatible with a regular Tivo Series2 DVR?

I purchased an extra remote for my regular Tivo Series2 and didn’t realize it was the DirectTV branded one until I opened the package. Can I still use this with my DVR?

    Hi glo,

    I can’t say for sure but you can buy a TiVo remote on eBay for less then $10.00.

    Yes it will work, ALL tivo are the same control codes except for a few like the Toshiba with the DVD Player m, and a very few others
