Both TIVO’s are Directv receivers with TIVO built in. I’d **** to lose all the programs I’ve already recorded now that I’ve upgraded to a series 2. Anyone have any tips? Is it even possible?

    Hi glamisjaime,

I am sure it can be done but you might want to go here and post your question -

The TiVo forums is full of TiVo geeks.

Okay first since it is a DirecTV Tivo series 1 and series2 have you upgraded the software to enable Multiroom viewing? If not then you need to purchase PTVnet-1.1 to enable the USB ports, connect both to your Home computer network with a USB ethernet adapter. You can purchase a USB Ethernet adapter from Fry’s or most electronic stores. Check out the Linksys USB200m Ver.2 then you can purchase the PTVnet software from I have put links below to help you out with connecting up the tow DirecTV Tivo’s to enable MRV (MultiRoom Viewing) which will allow you to transfer the shows from one DirecTV Tivo to another. (You need to make sure you have the DirecTV Tivo’s, not the DirecTV DVR’s). If you need any help you can send me an email and I can help you get through it.
